Cherry (prunus serotina) is a hardwood with natural luster, attractive grain, and a rich, warm glow.  This wood darkens with age.

Uses: Fine furniture, cabinet making, mouldings, millwork, kitchen cabinets, paneling, flooring, doors, boat interiors, musical instruments, turnings and carvings.

Properties: Cherry is easy to machine, nails and glues well and when sanded and stained, it produces an excellent smooth finish. It dries fairly quickly with moderately high shrinkage. (Source: hardwoodinfo.com)

We are currently offering a fall special on hard to find larch lumber valued for its waterproof and durable qualities.

Larch (Larix) is bright yellow or brownish-yellow in color. This timber has a straight grain and is hard and resinous (lasting longer than Eastern Red Cedar), with a more even texture than most Conifers.

Uses: Great for decks and barn siding, it is rot-resistant.

We’re getting ready to mill a nice supply of Hemlock logs. We will take custom orders for sizes.

Hemlock (Tsuga) is a genus of conifers in the family Pinaceae.

Eastern Hemlock is a large, long-lived evergreen tree with a conical to irregular crown. Hemlock is a softwood lumber that toughens with age.

Uses: It is often used as construction timber, framing, window sash material, millwork, sheathes, flooring, moldings, paneling, and dry-heat saunas. Hemlock is also becoming a popular lower cost alternative to hardwoods for furniture making because it is strong, wear-resistant and easy to work with. It also works well for ladders and stair components.
